Making small changes

When trying to make the changes to move towards a healthier lifestyle you must remember that Rome was not built in a day and any change is hard. You are going to slip and fall on your face, you will feel like giving up, or even catch yourself saying “why even try!” The truth is we all fail at first when we try something new, we all fail at first when we try to break “bad” habits. The best thing to do is make realistic goals that are attainable for you, if you hate running then don’t make a goal to run a 10K, if you hate the idea of going to the gym invest in some workout video or make a goal to go to the gym 3 days a week, or to walk a certain amount of miles a day. And dont beat yourself up when you fail and you skip a week, it is not the end of the world and it will not set you back, just start back the next week. Staying positive about the changes helps makes it seem like a breeze, stop the negative self talk and embrace the positives that will come from the changes. Same with a diet, not all is lost because you had a bad day and ate bad, just try to make healthy swaps to make a healthier lifestyle sustainable!

Always read labels, some foods that are deemed “healthy” are actually terrible for you, a great example of this is common cereals, and yogurts. Another tip is to buy most of your foods from the outskirts of the store and to stay away from the center isles. Living a healthy lifestyle can be fun and creative!
